Woman Who Lost Leg In Boston Bombing Will Run Marathon In April

The Boston Marathon bombing has had a long-lasting effect on both the lives of the families of the dead but also the injured.

One woman, Adrianne Haslet-Davis, who lost her limb below the knee in the bombing has vowed to run in the 120th Boston Marathon scheduled for this coming April. Her team, “#AdrianneStrong,” raises funds for the Oklahoma City-based Limbs for Life Foundation, an organization that works to provide fully functional prosthetics for people who may not be able to afford them.

After her injury, Haslet-Davis – a professional ballroom dancer – was determined to return to the dance floor. She was back out there less than a year later.

Haslet-Davis is a great inspiration for anyone overcoming adversity. We wish her the best on April 18th in Boston.

“You realize what kind of life you lived,” she said, “and that flashes before you, and then you realize what kind of life that you want to live after.” What an inspiration!
