Subway commuters were in for a surprise yesterday morning when a raccoon boarded the subway in Toronto. The unexpected passenger caused a four-minute service delay before it disembarked.
Heather Leach was on her way to work at 8 a.m. when she heard an announcement that the subway was going out of service. “The train had been stopped for a few minutes with all the doors open and everyone was kind of wondering what was going on,” she said.
It wasn’t long before people noticed the raccoon. “They all leapt out of their seats,” Leach said. “Once everyone was out on the platform, they were more amused about it.”
She heard another passenger call out that someone should record the raccoon, so Leach took out her phone and filmed the furry creature exploring the subway platform.
