The favorite among the nontoxic nail polishes in our tests was Base Coat by Nordstrom

It goes on easily, it dries fast and we found that it lasted for a super long time too. 

We don’t know what else we could ask for from non toxic nail polishes, really.

Sally Hansen’s Good Kind Pure Nail Color may have the longest product name ever but it’s pretty clear about what it does well and we’re really impressed with it.

2. Consistent quality of color

1. Not 100% VOC free
2. Some users find it a bit too runny for their tastes


Ella + Mila Elite

We loved that you can easily apply Ella + Mila Elite Collection Nail Polish and get a consistent result, time and time again. They do a nice dry nail polish too.

We were also very impressed with its longevity. That’s why its one of our best nontoxic nail polishes.

There’s no denying that color is a wonderful thing on your nails but Cote’s Strengthening Base and Top Coat is the gel polish you need to protect that color and ensure it stays chip free.

Olive and June Collection JG Nail Polish

The Olive and June Collection JG Nail Polish comes in over 50 colors and it’s pretty hard wearing considering its value for money price point. 

We really liked the way it looked on our fingers though we wished it had been a little easier to apply. Olive and June Nail Polish is excellent and contains no formaldehyde resin.

This range is known as the JG 7-free Nail Polish range because it is free of seven ingredients that are known to have toxic effects on human beings. 

PROS

1. The price point – this is a very cost-effective way to use a non-toxic nail polish
2. The fact it works with Olive and June’s “The Poppy” for easier use

CONS

1. Still the hardest nail polish in our roundup to apply evenly even using The Poppy
2. Didn’t last as long as some of the more expensive non toxic nail polishes


Looking good doesn’t have to come at the expense of your well-being. Just remember to ensure your nail polish remover is as healthy as your nail lacquer and nail polish ingredients. When you eliminate nail polish toxic ingredients, life is better.
