Best Solar Powered Security Cameras & Systems
Reolink Argus 2
The Argus 2 is great.
It comes with a solar panel, it’s fully waterproof to the IP65 standard, records high quality video and has support for both local storage of data and cloud support.
Why cloud support? Well, that means even if an intruder damages your camera – you still have their data on file.
The coverage area is pretty good too at 33 feet with full night vision.
The 64GB onboard card is a decent size too but you will want to review data fairly regularly to make sure you don’t lose it if you’re not using the cloud option.
You can find the Reolink Argus 2 online.
Solium Bird Security Camera
The Solium has a superb range of vision – though the price tag reflects this – and you get 160 degrees of angle of view at up to 50 feet using night vision mode!
You can also adjust the motion sensitive aspect to have a different trigger than the maximum field of view. This can help conserve battery life.
Not that we expect this to be a problem. Put this nifty camera out in the sun (it has an integrated solar panel) for an hour and you should be able to record for a full 24 hours!
It is also completely waterproof to the IP66 standard and can withstand incredible temperature ranges too.

Reolink Argus Eco
The Argus ECO not only comes with built in cloud ability but it also has 1 TB of free storage for you in the cloud – we like that a lot and it means that keeping backups of data is easy and you can keep several weeks of recordings on hand.
It can see for 100 degrees of angle and up to 30 feet in the dark with the built in infrared light.
If your solar charger doesn’t work for any reason, you can also charge this camera using a 5V adapter.

ENSTER Wireless Solar Battery Powered Security Camera
No cables, no fuss, built in battery and built in solar panel – the ENSTER system just needs putting into place, access to sunlight and then you can operate it via Wi-Fi using the UBell application (for both iOS and Android).
It can also provide automatic motion detection updates to your phone if anyone or anything comes with 10-16 feet of the camera – it sends a full clip for you to watch to see what’s going on.
We really like the 30-day money back guarantee on this product, it gives you confidence to give it a try.

Hiseeu Solar Wireless Camera
We love this camera too.
You need to leave it out for 5 days to fully charge the battery but… once it’s done, it will run for 120 days on that single charge!
The battery is guaranteed to last up to 6 years and the solar panel is included in the package – though the cable is only 12.8 feet long.
The only downside we can find is that there’s no cloud support though you can integrate cloud using the Wi-Fi support, it’s not as straight forward as it is with other models and you may find yourself needing to back up the onboard 64GB card manually.
You can find the Hiseeu Solar Wireless Camera online.
Reolink Argus Pro
This is a nice and ergonomically designed mode from Reolink (who make a lot of these products as you may have noticed).
It comes with an advanced Reolink app and you can watch any videos on your smartphone without having to pay extra fees for the service.
This was the easiest camera in our tests to install and we liked the fact that it can work with a Reolink power adaptor if you can’t get the sunlight you need for a full solar charge.

Lemnoi Wireless Solar Security Camera
If you want cloud storage but don’t want to pay for it the Lemnoi system gives you 7 days of cloud backups for free on a rolling basis.
That means you will need to download footage if you need it for future use though – after 7 days, it’s gone.
One nice feature of this security camera is the remote alarm function.
If you see an intruder on the linked app on your smartphone, you can then trigger a screaming siren which ought to make them run away in fright.

Start Vision Solar Powered Security Camera
The only thing we don’t like about the Start Vision model is the 32GB card which is smaller than all the other models we tested.
Otherwise, it’s excellent it has a great angle of view and can see up to 33 feet in the dark.
The Smart motion detection system is superb and allows you to track the motion of an intruder and map it all on video.
The video quality is good too at Full HD. Finally, it’s weatherproof rating of IP 65 is very useful too and means this camera ought to last a long time.

CTVison CT-SPBC Solar Powered Security Camera
If you need easy installation for your security cameras, this might be the best choice.
Use 4 screws and you can attach it to absolutely any surface and you can then configure the device using Amazons’ Alexa or scan the QR code on your smartphone.
It also provides cloud support for backups using Amazon’s Alexa too.

Henxlco Dummy Solar Security Cameras
Feeling the pinch financially but need some sort of security system anyway?
Well, they’re not perfect but this pack of 4 dummy solar powered cameras will pretend to be the real thing for a fraction of the price.
They don’t record video because they can’t, but they do have realistic lenses, flashing LEDs, fake infra-red, etc. to deter thieves and vandals.
