One of the largest problems facing humanity and, in turn, the planet is the use of plastics.
Humanity dumps 8 million tons of plastic waste into the oceans each year and millions more into landfill.
And once it’s there? Plastic often takes forever to break down.
Superbee is one of a number of companies hoping to help us tackle this problem before it’s too late.
Superbee is the brainchild of Antoinette Jackson, an Australian, who now lives in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
She hated seeing the plastic waste generated in her kitchen and so, she decided to develop a solution.
And in that very same kitchen she set about designing the Beeswax Solution for her wraps.
There was a lot of trial and error but now? They’re amazing.
Why We Love Superbee
It’s easy to whine about the plastic waste on the planet.
It’s much harder to actually do something about it.
This social enterprise has developed a product that genuinely replaces plastic but which will completely biodegrade when it comes to the end of its useful life.
And on top of that, they empower women and pay wages at 20% above the living wage which is recommended by the Fair Trade Association for Thailand.
Final Thoughts On Superbee
