We love to get out in the countryside and overnight in campgrounds at National Parks. What we don’t love as much is the idea that this is a hobby for the older crowd.
One of the best ways to show that camping is a young person’s game is to ensure that your accommodation says, “still got it!”
That’s where the SlyvanSport GO comes in.
It’s got youthful good looks in spades and that means you feel great about owning one right from the word well, umm… go.
It’s Super Simple To Transport
As a trailer, everything simply folds up into the GO and allows you to move from A to B with minimal fuss.
What you might not realize, at first, is that the trailer can also be used for loading stuff into. Quite a lot of stuff – up to 800 lbs. of it to be precise.
Make sure you inflate the tires to 50 psi if you load it up to the max though, or you may find that road handling is incredibly uncomfortable.
The “Control-Tilt” deck makes loading heavy goods like an ATV very practical too.
When you’re ready to set off – just attach the brake/signal lights and the safety chain to your 4-pin hookup on the tow vehicle and you’re ready to move safely.
The Set Up Is So Easy That You Can Focus On Camping
One thing that makes the GO from SylvanSport so amazing is that it takes no time at all to set up.
Admittedly, it takes slightly longer than 15 seconds (the video by SylvanSport below is a time lapse, after all) but it won’t take more than a few minutes.
No wonder the National Geographic Adventure described this as the “Coolest. Camper. Ever.”
If you’ve ever spent some time on a campsite wrestling with a tent that just won’t stay up, you’ll know how much of a lifesaver this simplicity can bring.
If you’ve travelled a long way across country, it’s getting dark and you then need to spend 3 hours putting up your home – you’ll be sharing a tent in unpleasant silence for a while.
That never happens when you have the SylvanSport GO.
The Tent is So Comfortable
There’s enough room for a family of four inside with a cool storage unit (made out of fabric) that lets you pack everyone’s stuff away neatly with a minimum of fuss.
They can also provide an awning (as an optional extra not as standard) that gives you a place to leave bikes and any other bulky gear out of the rain.
We wish there was a bathroom module mind you but for now, you’ll need to use the bathroom on the campsite or go as mother nature intended you to.
It could also use a built-in power supply but as it doesn’t have one, can we recommend getting a solar power generator to use to keep the lights on in the evenings?
They Have Their Environmental Credentials
It’s impossible to make an item this complex with completely locally sourced products but Sylvansport is certainly trying to do so.
They source 80% of all the components in the GO with just 70 miles of their manufacturing facilities in Brevard, North Carolina.
We think this is very important and we wish that more manufacturers would take the mileage of materials more seriously.
The farther your goods have to travel, the more carbon emissions that they create, the worse it is for the planet.
Last Word on the SylvanSport GO Camper
We absolutely love the Sylvansport GO. So do SylvanSport’s other customers.
Yes, we can think of a couple of improvements we’d like but we really can’t think of any other camper trailer that’s as easy to use or which offers such comfort and flexibility.
