The fashion industry is good for the way we look, but terrible for the planet.
Each year billions of tons of textiles end up in landfill. 85% of the clothes that we wear, in fact.
It doesn’t have to be like this, and the Time Top 100 Invention award-winner Circulose have proved it.
Circulose is a product made by Renewcell, a Swedish firm.
They use renewable energy to break down and decolorize old fabric. Then they remove all the synthetic fibers.
What remains is cellulose pulp.
This can be remade into new textile fibers. These in turn, can be made into clothes.
Of course, this only matters if big brands put their weight behind it. And they have!
H&M has sold a clothing line made entirely from Circulose. The classic jeans company, Levi’s, released their own Circulose product as well.
You can’t go wrong with Circulose.
